My name is Sierra Blake.

FILMMAKER | WRITER | PHOTOGRAPHER

Hey Young World!

I’m Sierra Blake. I capture the ugly truth and highlight beautiful moments in that truth, which propel people to be better versions of themselves.

After leaving Savannah College of Art and Design, I started Bicus! Productions in 2016 to tell the bold, unapologetic truth in the world. No more hiding.

In 2017, I created Tabitha’s House, a film documenting a Savannah woman’s journey to discovering her purpose. Helping single mothers who are homeless and struggling on the streets of Savannah, Ga is her calling. Thus, Tabitha’s House a non-profit safe haven for women and children is born. Tabitha’s House was accepted into Savannah State University’s Film Festival, winning Best Documentary; Accepted into The Georgia Documentary Film Festival and nominated for Best Georgia Documentary. I love this film because it brought me so much joy to help someone who blesses others in the world.

2019 was my year of self discovery. I explored and grappled with sexuality, homophobia, and down low culture through my work. I wrote, directed, and produced A Sunday Kind of Love to highlight the issues Black women in the LGTBQIA face daily within the black community. A Sunday Kind of Love was accepted into the Out on Film online Festival and nominated for Best Film. This win holds a special place in my heart. It makes me feel like I’m doing my part to bring healing, promote acceptance, and uplift my community.

“I am the greatest, I said that even before I knew I was,” is a quote by Muhammad Ali that dwells in my heart because I know I am destined to do great things in my lifetime. Throughout my career I have written, produced, and directed for various media including radio, television, and film to create work that positively impacts the world. Again, I am Sierra D. Blake, Photographer, Filmmaker, Writer and World Changer.
